Cruising with the Big Cats

Cruising with the Big Cats

Homegrown is a term which is normally used to classify a belonging from their own locality or place of living. As pure as the term homegrown is, so is our brand SKATRD, a homegrown brand who got to showcase our pure form in India’s biggest Art and Culture festival, Homegrown Street. It was an event of Art, Culture, Music and Fashion. Brands and artists from all over India came together to have 2 days full of entertainment, style, and connections. Accompanied by HolyStoked, HGS had assembled skate ramps for their event; and you know what will happen when SKATRD sees skate ramps, well yes you guessed right, they’re gonna not leave a chance to not fall for and/or on them. We got the chance to interact and skate with Sagar Waghela from Meteoric Crew, Shruti Sambhaji Bhosle from Skate Academy India, Ishita Malaviya from The Shaka Surf Club, BMX rider Annul Pale and of course the HolyStoked crew of Bangalore. Other than this, on the fashion side we were recognised alongside the Big Cats of streetwear in India. It was a great opportunity for SKATRD as it got to stand next to Capsul, Almost Gods and Solesearch. Apart from making good connections with the heroes of streetwear itself, we got appreciated by Jay, founder of Jaywalking. Our featured product also found an intriguing audience in Hanumankind, a homegrown artist of rap and hip hop. Talking about the Big cats of the industry, our product Oversized Full Sleeve Shirt was bought and appreciated by one of the founders of the Daily Paper, Abdeer Trabsini, being the cherry on top for this 2 day trip to Mumbai.
